Workers with Reed & Reed mix and pour concrete Monday into a pier at the Richmond-Dresden Bridge construction project on the Kennebec River.

Traffic on the old bridge was reduced to one lane to permit concrete trucks to stop and pour their loads into a mixer sitting over the edge, before pumping the mix into the pier that will support the new bridge.

The 1,300-foot span over the river is expected to be completed by July 2015.
