‘The Healthcare Movie’ set for Sept. 11

FARMINGTON — The movie, “The Healthcare Movie,” can be seen at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the University of Maine at Farmington, 169 High St., Ricker Addition, Room 107. The 65-minute documentary tells a story about the health care systems in Canada and the United States. A discussion on health care reform will follow. The event is free.

South Solon Meeting House events planned

SOLON — Peter Koons, Ph.D., Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH); Professor University of Maine Orono School of Earth and Climate Sciences and family-farm entrepreneur, will share research at the intersection of global mountain ranges, glaciation, oceans and atmosphere at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the South Solon Meeting House, corner of Meeting House Road and Rice’s Corner Road.

Let’s Talk About It book group to meet

SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan Free Public Library has been selected by the Maine Humanities Council to offer “Let’s Talk About It,” a free reading and discussion group with copies of books available through the library. The program is provided by the Maine Humanities Council’s Maine Center for the Book in cooperation with the Maine State Library.
