Junior Achievement of Maine recently held its eighth annual Titan Challenge at seven college campuses statewide. Regional winners from the Kaplan University site in Augusta were, from left, Garrick Ridlon, Devan Globensky and Katie Fenton, students at Cony High School and their mentor Michelle Ritcheson of Bangor Savings Bank. The JA Titan Challenge is an online business competition that puts high school students in the leadership seat to run a virtual company. Members of each three-student team took on the role of chief executive officer, chief financial officer, and marketing research and development as they directly competed with the other teams to successfully sustain their business. Each team was matched with a business mentor from the community to guide them through decision making.
