SANFORD — Sanford police arrested a local man they say used his home computer to solicit sex with a girl younger than 14.

Detective Cpl. Sarah Roberts said police officers executed a search warrant on Thursday at the Brook Street home of 44-year-old Scott Daigle.

Daigle was charged with the Class D crime of solicitation of a child under the age of 14 to commit a prohibited act.

Roberts said the intended victim notified Sanford police that she had been contacted by Daigle.

Daigle is being held at the York County Jail in Alfred on $10,000 cash bail.
