ST. ALBANS — A local man was arrested Thursday after an unsuccessful attempt to hide from police in his Mason Corner Road home, where police found several prescription medications and equipment for selling drugs.

John Tripp III, of 19 Mason Corner Road, is charged with three counts of class D possession of a schedule W drug and one count of class E possession of a schedule Z drug.

Police searched the home with a warrant Thursday morning, according to a news release from Chief Deputy Dale Lancaster, of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.

Inside they found Flexeril pills, Ritalin pills, Suboxone pills, Suboxone strips, cocaine and marijuana, along with digital scales, drug-related ledgers and drug-related paraphernalia.

Tripp, 45, was home alone and ran from police as they were entering, the release said.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges might be brought against Tripp or others, Lancaster said.

Tripp is in custody at the Somerset County Jail and is being held in lieu of $3,036 cash bail.
