Wilton residents who want to be heard on town issues now have the opportunity to make their comments in a new public comment session of the Board of Selectmen meetings.

A recently added public comments period allows for residents to attend the twice-monthly meetings and ask questions or voice concerns to board members at the beginning of each meeting.

Board agendas also include specific topics for discussion at each meeting, but the public comments period allows for residents to bring any topic to the table

Chairman Scott Taylor said Tuesday that the public comment section of the agenda will be a good way to bring up ideas for the selectmen to further discuss at future meetings.

The selectmen meet at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Town Office on Weld Road.

“I really encourage the public comment. It allows the public to bring forth issues without having to wait until the end of the meeting,” said Selectwoman Tiffany Maiuri.

Contact information for the five member selectboard is also listed on the town website at www.wiltonmaine.org.
