AUGUSTA – The Augusta Police Department announced promotions within the department, including two patrol sergeants and a new detective.

Jason Cote was promoted to the rank of patrol sergeant on Dec. 30. Cote was hired by the Augusta Police Department in 1998 and worked as a patrol officer on all three shifts. In 2006, he was transferred to the detective division, where he worked until his promotion in December.

Eric DosSantos was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division on Feb. 17. He was hired by the Augusta Police Department in 2006 and worked as a patrol officer on all three shifts. DosSantos is a captain with the Maine Army National Guard and has served two tours in Afghanistan.

Eric Lloyd was promoted to the rank of patrol sergeant on June 2. He was hired by the Augusta Police Department in 2006 and worked as a patrol officer on all three shifts. Lloyd has spent countless hours volunteering at speaking engagements with Augusta youth and coaching baseball.
