SOUTH PARIS — Crystal West had four hits to lead No. 4 Oxford Hills to the 15-3 Eastern Class A softball quarterfinal win over No. 5 Messalonskee in six innings, while the Eagles helped the Vikings’ cause by committing eight errors.

West, who got the pitching win, singled three times and doubled while Ana Winslow added a triple. Oxford Hills (13-4) advances to play the winner of today’s game betwen Hampden and Cony while Messalonskee finishes at 11-6.

Class D West

No. 4 WISCASSET 10, No. 5 VALLEY 0, 5 INNINGS: Errors proved to be the Cavaliers’ undoing as they committed seven total in a 10-0 loss in five innings to the Wolverines in the quarterfinals of the Western Class D tournament.

Dylan Belanger was saddled with the loss for Valley despite giving up just five hits and walking none in three innings as five of the seven runs he allowed were unearned.

Cody Lawyerson had Valley’s lone hit, a single in the fourth inning. The Cavaliers finished the season at 9-5 overall.
