Madison’s Emily McKenney and Messalonskee’s Kylee Knight were among six finalists for the Miss Maine softball award announced Wednesday.
McKenney went 14-1 on the mound for the Bulldogs with 155 strikeouts in 96 innings and an earned run average of 0.66. She also batted .518 with 28 RBIs. She’ll attend Roger Wiliams next year to play softball. Knight hit .571 with 27 stolen bases, including seven of third base. She plans to play softball for St. Lawrence University next season.
Also nominated were Scarborough’s Alyssa Williamson, Noble’s Amber Kelly. Kaylie Andrews of Traip Academy and Thornton’s Erin Brayden. The winner will be announced June 26.
