BANGOR — Top-seeded Bangor scored an unearned run in the second inning en route to a 1-0 win against Cony in an Eastern Maine Class A semifinal baseball game Saturday.

Cony senior Mitchell Bonenfant had a no-hitter going until he gave up a two-out double to Trevor Delaite in the sixth inning. Bonenfant pitched a one-hitter without striking out or walking anyone. Bangor scored in the second when Justin Courtney reached on an error and eventually came home on a fielder’s choice from Hunter Boyce. Delaite allowed three hits, struck out 11 and walked one in picking up the victory. Cony had chances to score but stranded three runners in the second inning and two more in the third.

Bangor, 16-2, advances to play No. 2 Messalonskee at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Augusta for the regional championship. Fourth-seeded Cony fiinishes at 10-8.

Class C West

SACOPEE VALLEY 6, MONMOUTH 6: The Hawks rallied for six runs in the top of the seventh inning to upset the top-seeded Mustangs in the Western Maine Class C semifinal. With a pair of runs in, the Hawks scored on a steal of third and an overthrow and tied the game on Kyle Jordan’s RBI double. Alex Fenderson followed with a two run single through a drawn-in infield to provide the final runs. Reliever Burnell got the side in order in the seventh for the win.

Monmouth (16-2) scored a single run in the sixth on consecutive singles from Brandon Goff, Hunter Richardson and Kyle Fletcher, but Burnell got the next two batters on a popup and ground out to escape further damage. Richardson singled and doubled for Monmouth while Goff singled twice. Fourth-seeded Sacopee (18-0), advances to play St. Dominic for the regional championship Tuesday.
