AUGUSTA — Duane and Linda Scott, of Augusta, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Marie Scott, to Matthew Paul Bouffard, of Weymouth, Mass., son of Paul and Susan Bouffard, of Huntington, Conn.

Shannon earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., in 2006. She will graduate from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., later this year with a master of science degree in speech-language pathology. She is employed by BAMSI Early Intervention in Brockton, Mass.

Matthew earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., in 2002. He is employed by Arbella Insurance in Quincy, Mass.

The couple will be married Oct. 12, 2014, in Falmouth, Maine.
