George and Lauralee Davis were feted at a surprise 50th anniversary party on Aug. 10, 2014. Daughters Christen Davis and Jennifer Leonard and her husband, Douglas, and children Tucker and Madison, and Lauralee’s sister and brother-in-law, Dorita and Delwyn Downes, hosted the buffet luncheon. More than 50 friends from their community at Fieldstone Drive, Waterville, and their church family at the Federated Church in Skowhegan, and family from Kittery, Portland, Farmington, Skowhegan and Palermo attended.

The couple were married on June 27, 1964, in Wilton, by the Rev. Peter Misner. They have two daughters, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They enjoyed a trip to Atlantic, Canada, in late June.

George is retired as principal from Winslow High School, Winslow.

Laurlee is a retired medical secretary/transcriptionist.
