Knife incident results in Waterville arrest
WATERVILLE — A city man was arrested Wednesday after he threatened an acquaintance with a knife and later resisted arrest, according to police.
Joel Roldan, 36, of Hillside Avenue, was arrested around 2:21 p.m. by Officer Matt Libby on charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and refusing to submit to arrest.
Sgt. Lincoln Ryder, of the Waterville Police Department, said that around 1:29 p.m a man reported to police that Roldan had threatened him with a knife.
Ryder said police were able to corroborate the report and went to arrest Roldan at a residence on Hillside Avenue. He said while police were attempting to arrest Roldan, he “began pulling away and getting physical” with the officer. He said a minor was also present while Roldan was being arrested and was charged with obstructing government administration for allegedly trying to disrupt the arrest process.

IN SKOWHEGAN, Wednesday at 9:16 a.m., a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported on Mount Pleasant Avenue.

IN WATERVILLE, Wednesday at 8:09 a.m., a theft was reported on Waterville Commons Drive.
8:11 a.m., criminal trespassing was reported on Summer Street.
12:11 p.m., a fight was reported on Kennedy Memorial Drive at Dunkin’ Donuts.
1:29 p.m., an assault was reported on Pleasant Street.
4:04 p.m., a motor vehicle accident involving injuries was reported on Carter Memorial Drive.
5:46 p.m., a motor vehicle accident involving injuries was reported on Interstate 95.
6:06 p.m., a motor vehicle accident involving injuries was reported on Carter Memorial Drive.
ARRESTS
IN SOMERSET COUNTY, Wednesday at 10:09 a.m., Donna Melliot, 42, of Skowhegan, was arrested on charges of theft and failing to appear.
12:09 p.m., Evan James Aucoin, 27, of Pittsfield, was arrested on charges of failing to appear and on a probation revocation.
3:34 p.m., Robert Brown, 57, of Solon, was arrested on a charge of violating a protection order.
