MONMOUTH — After dropping a two-point decision at Hall-Dale last week, the Monmouth girls basketball team returned the favor at home Monday with a 46-28 victory over the Bulldogs in Mountain Valley Conference action.

Tia Day paced the Mustangs (11-4) with a game-high 15 points to go along with three assists and two steals. Haley West added seven points and 11 rebounds, while Abbey Allen chipped in with four points and eight rebounds.

Dani Sweet led Hall-Dale (9-5) with seven points and Molly French poured in six.

DIRIGO 42, OAK HILL 39 (OT): Sara Noel’s 3-pointer at the buzzer just rimmed out as the Raiders dropped a tight MVC game to the Cougars in Wales.

Oak Hill (10-5) managed to force overtime with a defensive stop and the game tied at 37-37, as Dirigo (13-2) held the ball for the final 90 seconds of regulation but could not get the go-ahead basket.

Megan Crosby led the Raiders with eight points and six rebounds, while Sadie Goulet, Sara Noel and Bri Mulherin chipped in with six points each.

Jessica Conant led the Cougars with a game-high 16 points, while Lauren Henderson and Kelsey Hutchins each finished with nine point.

TEMPLE 64. HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 26: Kiara Carr scored a game-high 38 points as Temple rolled over Highview Christian (1-11).

Molly Riportella added nine points for Temple, while Isabelle Foshay and Selam Heinrich each finished with six.

Kelsey McDonald was the lone Knight in double figures with 11 points.

CARRABEC 42, LISBON 23: Mickayla Willette scored a game-high 17 points to lead the host Cobras to the MVC win.

Jerzee Rugh added eight points for Carrabec (10-6).

Lisbon (3-12) was led by Jasmin Le with nine points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

WINTHROP 71, MADISON 58: Anthony Owens had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Ramblers held off the Bulldogs in Winthrop.

Jacob Hickey added 14 points for Winthrop (13-2), Taylor Morang chipped in with 13 and Dakota Carter finished with 11.

Chase Malloy led Madison (12-3) with 16 pointss and Mark Linkletter buried a trio of 3-pointers for nine points.

HALL-DALE 69, MONMOUTH 49: Nat Crocker scored a game-high 22 points as the Bulldogs raced past the Mustangs for an MVC win in Monmouth.

Wesley Lapointe added 15 points for Hall-Dale (11-4) and Bryson Camp chipped in with 12.

Luke Thomas finished with 16 points for Monmouth (8-6), while Hunter Richdson poured in 10.

TEMPLE 64, HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 16: Jonathan Novak scored 13 points to lead Temple to the Western D victory in Waterville.

Jacob Gardner added eight points for Temple (6-9).

Zach Clark led Highview Christian (0-14) with five points.

LISBON 57, CARRABEC 48: The Greyhounds drained 11 3-pointers en route to a MVC win over the Cobras in North Anson.

Jonah Sauttier accounted for five of those triples en route to a game-high 21 points for Lisbon (4-11), while Noah Carter and Johnny Yim each finished with 11 points.

Dustin Crawford was the lone player in double figures for Carrabec (1-13) with 15 points.

DIRIGO 79, OAK HILL 44: Riley Robinson made six 3-pointers and finished with 38 points to lead the Cougars to the MVC win in Wales. Kaine Hutchins scored 12 points and Clay Swett added 11 for Dirigo (13-2) as well.

Drew Gamage had 12 rebounds and 13 points to lead the Raiders (3-12).
