HALLOWELL — Harlow Gallery’s annual Silent Art Auction returns Feb. 11-14 offering deals on original art donated by local artists and art collectors. The auction will include paintings, pastels, sculpture, prints, photographs, crafts, artifacts; art by Maine artists, vintage and antique art — art collectors, according to a news release from the gallery.
Proceeds support exhibitions and programs at the gallery, a 501(c) nonprofit organization. Donations of art may be tax deductible according to current tax law. Artists and collectors interested in making a donation of art, follow this link http://harlowgallery.org/silent-art-auction-2015/
• Wednesday, Feb. 11 through Friday, Feb. 13: Open for bids from noon to 6 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 14: Open for bids from noon to 4 p.m. Bidding ends at 4 p.m. sharp. While gallery staff and volunteers process auction winners, bidders are invited to The Maine House, at 119 Water St., for Happy Hour for the Harlow from 4 to 5 p.m., with complimentary hostess platter and cash bar featuring craft cocktails, Maine-brewed draft beer. The Maine House also offers tapas-style small plates and are accepting reservations for a special Valentine’s Day meal, with the first seating at 6 p.m. following the event. The Harlow Gallery will reopen from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for winning bidders to collect and pay for their art. Winning bidders also can collect and pay for their art from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb 16.
