Gov. Paul LePage’s tax legislation/corporate machinery depreciation is a most insidious tax scheme that would benefit only out-of-state super corporations; meanwhile, the average residents of Maine, and their elderly senior relatives, would have to bear the brunt of even more austerity.

Why is it that the middle class, which is having an ever-increasingly difficult time just trying to make ends meet, ends up paying for even more luxury largesse for the already rich? We should think about this, I mean, really, really try to answer the question, and see if we like the answer.

Also, picture the notion that the governor is trying to fast track this legislation as an emergency situation — which it most certainly is not — so it would face the minimum of legislative support for its passage.

This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
