CLINTON — A 20-year-old Clinton woman suffered minor injuries Tuesday in a snowmobile accident near Johnson Flat Road.

Brittany Wentworth was riding with a friend, Matt Lee, on separate snowmobiles shortly after 10 a.m. in the clear-cut area beneath high-tension power lines. Lee said Wentworth’s machine hit a grass mound nose-first and the machine’s handlebar hit her.

Lee placed Wentworth on his snowmobile and returned to Johnson Flat Road, where rescue crews from the Clinton police and fire departments and the Maine Warden Service responded, and Wentworth was taken to MaineGeneral Health’s Thayer Center for Health for treatment.

Wentworth suffered minor soft-tissue injuries to her ribs, stomach and back, and she was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon, according to her mother, Angela Wentworth.
