NORRIDGEWOCK — A stolen pickup truck was crashed into a snowbank and abandoned Wednesday night on Bigelow Hill Road, and police are still seeking the driver, who fled.

The 2003 Chevrolet pickup is registered to Roberta Davis, of Canaan, and was stolen from outside the Oosoola Country Store around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sgt. Michael Knight, of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department. The keys had been left with the truck, he said.

After hitting a snowbank, the truck rolled over and the driver fled. The truck was towed from the scene, but Knight said he didn’t know the extent of the damage to it.

There is no information on who was driving the truck, Knight said. Deputy David Cole, of the sheriff’s department, is investigating the case.

He was assisted at the scene by other deputies from his department, the Norridgewock Fire Department and Redington-Fairview EMS.
