The Hannaford supermarket at 24 Portland Road in Buxton was robbed Thursday morning, but the town’s police chief said his officers will need more time to analyze surveillance footage before they can release a description of the suspect.

Police Chief Michael Grovo said the robbery occurred at the front of the store. Grovo said it appears someone entered the store just before noon and demanded cash. He did not indicate whether the suspect had a weapon.

No one had been arrested as of Thursday evening. Grovo plans to release more information about the robbery on Friday
