Sometime ago a story was told to me: “One day a father was watching his young son try unsuccessfully to move a huge rock. Finally, his father asked him if he was using all his strength to move the rock. His son nodded his head affirmatively. No you haven’t the father responded — you haven’t asked me to help you.”
That’s how I felt at the AARP’s recent “scam jam” held at the Civic Center. We are so fortunate to have access to many services to help us whenever we are in any type of “jam.”
It is amazing how easily someone is enticed to send money to receive money; or, to give up whenever we feel we have been cheated or scammed in any way.
Many services are available f-r-e-e — paid for by our taxes.
The seminar was very well presented, highly informative and the lunch was delicious.
