Lester Holt, NBC news anchor, tells me LeBron James had never been in the NBA finals in a Cleveland uniform. After a break, Holt says people on Twitter reminded him that James had been in the finals in a Cleveland uniform in 2007, to which he replies, “Who could forget that?” Huh?
A woman doing an energy commercial in black clothing says America is the world’s No. 1 natural gas producer and, in the near future, will be the No. 1 producer in oil. But a southern Maine gas company wants to increase its prices by $10 million, while gas prices do not get lower despite the closings of thousands of American companies using millions less gallons of oil because of the inability to compete globally.
Paul LePage, Maine’s governor, spends millions to help out East Millinocket and successfully buys a landfill that will cost Maine residents millions, all the while being taken for millions in a scheme that was perfectly legal by Cate Street Capital to route its money back to itself, which also cost Maine residents millions. Bravo.
Brian Williams, former news anchor for NBC Nightly News, tells me about the terrifying chopper missions as he reported with troops from the Middle East, which turned out to be bogus and, from all accounts, NBC executives knew about this and past indiscretions.
A few weeks ago, Fox News went live on the air to report about another police shooting in Baltimore in the middle of the afternoon. The Fox reporter on the scene described the incident in graphic detail and let several Baltimore residents who supposedly saw everything give their accounts of what happened live on the air. A few minutes later, the story was found to be untrue.
This is my world today.
