MADISON — The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office is investigating incidences of vandalism and theft that are believed to have taken place overnight on Thursday and were reported at eight locations.

The vandalism occurred in the area of Bean Street, Heald Street and Weston Avenue and included windows shot by BB guns, a stolen bicycle, stolen real estate signs, traffic cones put in vehicles and broken windows in vehicles, according to Chief Deputy James Ross, of the sheriff’s office. The first report of vandalism came in at 6:04 a.m. Friday.

Deputy Joe Mitchell is the primary investigator in the case and no suspects have been identified yet, Ross said. He said police don’t have an estimate yet of the monetary damage caused by the vandalism.
