Perhaps Kristine Snyder and her ilk (Aug. 27 article, “Protest of TV wildlife show planned”) would serve the animal kingdom more effectively if they protested against those thoughtless idiots who buy exotic and/or domestic “pets” and then abandon them or release them into the “wild” because they have become bored or burdened with the care these animals require.

Typical of all radicals, Snyder paints with a broad brush. The animals do exist and do need care. With little funding, Julie and Bob Miner provide a caring sanctuary and education to the public.
