SKOWHEGAN — Gerald and Laura Holt, of Skowhegan, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Michalya Elizabeth Holt, of Athens, to Joshua Frankie Dorval, son of Henry and June Harrell, of Athens.

Michalya is a graduate of Skowhegan Area High School and is a junior at the University of Maine at Farmington, where she is studying secondary education in English.

Joshua also is a graduate of Skowhegan Area High School. He is employed by Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan.

An Oct. 2, 2015, wedding is planned.
