AUGUSTA — Free ME from Lung Cancer will host the 4th annual Save Your Breath 5K run or walk Sunday, Nov. 8, in Capitol Park. The run will be timed by Back 40 Timing Co.

Doors will open at 7 a.m. A ceremony will begin at 7:45 a.m. with Tina Charest, who will sing “The National Anthem.” Mayor Dave Rollins will serve as emcee, Councilman Cecil Munson will give the reading of the Proclamation; and Dave Eid, WGME Channel 13 Sports Anchor, will speak.

The run/walk, following the ceremony, will take place on the Kennebec River Rail Trail from the Y to Hallowell and return. Capitol Park has been reserved for those who wish to walk.

Children’s Discovery Museum and Augusta Fire Department will provide children’s activities. The event also will include Claire Guy, a reflexologist; Ghost Busters, Sam’s Club, Bob Dylan music by Alex Farkus, Kennebec Valley YMCA LiveStrong program, Liz Plummer from Arbonne, and more.

The event will end with the awards ceremony. Rollins, WMTW News Anchor Tracy Sabol and Eid will present monetary awards to the first-, second- and third-place men’s group and women’s group.
