GARDINER — A special Veterans Day service is planned from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Gardiner’s Christ Church, 2 Dresden Ave.

Honor Flight Maine will be the special guests this year, according to a news release from the church.

This nonprofit organization was created to honor veterans for their service and sacrifice. They arrange trips to Washington, D. C., for World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans and terminally-ill veterans of all wars to visit the monuments created for them.

A family style luncheon, hosted by the Women of Christ Church, will be served following the service. All are welcome.
