LEWISTON — Outright Lewiston-Auburn will present the Maine Youth Summit from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the University of Southern Maine Lewiston-Auburn College, 51 Westminster St.

The Maine Youth Summit is a free all-day event for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and allied youth ages 14-23, according to a news release form organizers. This year’s theme is Queer Liberation History.

Erin Hennessey of Portland Racial Justice Congress will be the keynote speaker. The Summit also will feature presentations from The University of Southern Maine’s LGBT Special Collections.

The Youth Summit offers workshops that are youth-led and/or co-facilitated on a multitude of topics relating to LGBTQ history, activism, racial justice, and sexual health and safety. Other activities offer opportunities for creative expression, including poetry and art.

Light breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided. Transportation, ride sharing and or travel reimbursement are available.
