Bill Williamson in his letter to the editor (Oct. 27) argues mistakenly that pro-life folks are concerned about life only before it is born.

In Augusta, the telephone number of a crisis pregnancy center, “Open Arms,” is posted prominently by the entrance to the Augusta abortion clinic. My church is a supporter of the crisis pregnancy center in Rockland, “Care Net.” We, along with many other churches and individuals supply money, baby supplies and staff.

There are many centers like this in the state that not only support an alternative to abortion but also offer post-abortive counseling. After an abortion, Planned Parenthood is all done with its client. If she runs into trouble (bleeding, etc.) she has to go to the emergency room.

My wife and I had two babies a year apart who died in the hospital soon after birth. We gave them names, had a simple funeral and buried them on our lot in the cemetery with markers.

I wonder about these aborted babies. Are they buried whole or are they incinerated? Is there any respect for human remains?

Williamson is worried about birth control. I noticed that free or reduced-price devices can be had at the local health clinic. There is also the question of whether public tax money to Planned Parenthood should be diverted for lack of personal responsibility and foolish disregard for consequences.
