Kara E. Burgess and Stuart Hamilton Smith were married Aug. 20, 2015, in Towson, Maryland.

The bride is the daughter of J. Gordon Burgess, of Monmouth, and Tobey Burgess, of Monmouth. The bridegroom is the son of Timothy and Vivian Smith, of Salisbury, Maryland.

Their children, Jackson Culpepper, Jackie Smith, Lucy Smith, Maura Smith and Layla Smith, attended the wedding.

A reception will be held in Monmouth in the spring.

Kara is a graduate of Monmouth Academy and Southeastern Institute, in Charleston, South Carolina. She attends Colorado Technical University for Health Management. She is employed by Greater Baltimore Medical Center in the Orthopaedic Department.

Stuart is a graduate of Bennett High School and Worwick College, both in Salisbury. He is employed as a manager by Harris Teeter Supermarkets, in Laurel, Maryland.

They plan to take a honeymoon trip to Maine in the spring.

They live in Nottingham, Maryland.
