WINTHROP — Jacob Hickey scored a team-high 18 points to lead Winthrop past Mountain Valley 66-38 in a Mountain Valley Conference boys basketball game Wednesday.
Hickey added four assists, five steals and four rebounds as well. Garrett Tsouprake chipped in eight points for the Ramblers (3-0) while Andrew Pazdziorko had seven points and seven rebounds.
The Falcons (0-3) were led by Ryan Flynn with 18 points.
RICHMOND 54, NYA 32: Zach Small scored a game-high 25 points to lead the host Bobcats to the victory.
Cody Tribbet added eight points for Richmond (2-0) while Zack Marseglia chipped in six.
NYA (0-2) was led by Haven Cutko with 15 points.
KENTS HILL 83, HEBRON 70: Trevor Guity scored 29 points to lead the Huskies to the win. Darius Hinds added 20 points for Kents Hill (1-2) while Tory Brown (13 points) and Luke Arsenault (12) were also in double figures.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
BOWDOIN 79, UMF 38: Shannon Brady scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Polar Bears to the non-conference win in Brunswick.
Lauren Petit added 14 points for Bowdoin (4-2).
Meghan Smith led the Beavers (3-4) with 13 points while Cheyenne Malloy had seven.
WHEELOCK 36, THOMAS 24: Brianna Hochwarter and Emma Siver each scored eight points to lead Wheelock (3-2) to the win.
Thomas (1-5) was led by Taylor Johnson with six points.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
THOMAS 91, UMA 83: Tyheem Simon scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Terriers to the non-conference win in Waterville.
Carlos Gonzalez added 22 points for Thomas (4-5) while Adam Carlsen scored 15.
UMA (6-8) was led by Dallas Murray and Brandon Rogers with 21 points apiece. Keith Chesley scored 12 points while Caleb McGuire added 11.
