JACKMAN — Penobscot Community Health Care recently announced the Trustees of the Plum Creek Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to help fund a HVAC Installation Project at Jackman Community Health Center at 376 Main St. The center is staffed by Patricia Doyle, MD, and Anna Babiarz, PA-C, according to a news release from Penobscot Community Health Care.

“We are grateful for the continued support of the Plum Creek Foundation as we work to provide the people of the Jackman region with the highest quality health care in a setting that is comfortable and accessible,” Kenneth Schmidt, MPA, PCHC president and CEO, said in the release.

“We are delighted to be able to support the Jackman Community Health Center and the communities where the Plum Creek operates and where our employees live and work,” Mark Doty, community affairs manager for Plum Creek Timber Company, said in the release.

Jackman Community Health Center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Thursday, and offers 24/7 urgent care. The practice provides health care for more than 1,000 patients with almost 4,000 patient visits each year and is the only primary care provider within 50 miles. The center recently underwent major renovations and offers family medicine, dental hygiene, pharmacy services, X-ray, 24/7 urgent care, mental health, and substance abuse services. The practice joined PCHC in February 2014.
