Regarding Lisa Savage’s letter of Dec. 19 (“We’re all descended from immigrants, after all”), I believe I can solve her issues.

Why not bring our troops home, use the money to house and feed the poor, give the able-bodied Syrian men our weapons, and let them fight their own battles for once?
