An Old Orchard Beach man was arrested this week and charged with gross sexual assault after allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

Police were called to a home on Smithwheel Road around 9 p.m. Sunday to take a report about an assault that allegedly occurred that evening.

Kent Nguyen, 42, was arrested the following day and on a charge of gross sexual assault, according to Old Orchard Beach police.

Police announced the arrest Wednesday.

Nguyen was released on bail with restrictions that he have no contact with children under the age of 16. Police continue to investigate the incident.
