Lanes Island Tour, 10 a.m. in South Freeport
Maine Coast Heritage Trust, the Maine Island Trail Association and a collection of conservation groups are leading a tour of Lanes Island and a lesson in best practices for island camping. Lanes Island, off Yarmouth, was donated to Maine Coast Heritage Trust by Lisa and Leon Gorman, and offers overnight camping less than a half-mile from Winslow Park in South Freeport. Bring your own kayak and life jacket, and paddle out to share a breakfast and learn how to island camp from a Register Maine Guide. The group will depart from Winslow Park at 130 Staples Point Road in South Freeport.

Hiking Challenge, June 4-5 in Harpswell
The town of Harpswell and the Harps-well Heritage Land Trust will offer a hiking challenge on National Trails Day. The seventh annual Harpswell Hiking Challenge offers eight coastal walks that total 10 miles of trails. Register online or the morning of June 4 at the Harpswell Town Office at 263 Mountain Road. Sparrow Search, 7 a.m. in Prospect
