The city of Augusta Recreation/Childcare has announced that pools will open for the season on Tuesday, June 21. The pools will close for the season Aug. 19.

Calumet (Northern Avenue), McCall’s (Eastern Avenue) and Williams (Bangor Street) pools will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

The pools are closed Sundays and Mondays. However, in the event of scorching hot weather, Augusta Recreation/Childcare will try to open the pools Mondays as needed.

Trained life guard staff from Kennebec Valley YMCA will be on duty.

Lifeguards will take a break daily from 1 to 1:20 p.m. and from 3 to 3:20 p.m.
