Lawrence High School in Fairfield has announced its Girls’ and Boys’ State delegates for 2016. American Legion Auxiliary Girls State will be held at Husson College in Bangor and American Legion Boys State will take place at Thomas College in Waterville this month.

Alexa Bartley is actively involved in theater, marching band, vocal vibe, jazz combo, and is on the tennis team. She resides in Clinton and is the daughter of Diana Nutting and David Bartley.

Cassidi Poulin is a member of the marching band, jazz band, jazz combo, the golf club, and is involved in the theater program. She resides in Fairfield and is the daughter of Jillann Harding and Mark Poulin.

Kiana Letourneau is a member of the PRIDE Club and the National Honor Society. She plays soccer, basketball and is on the track team. She resides in Fairfield and is the daughter of Lisa and Stephen Letourneau.

Morgan Boudreau is a member of the basketball team, soccer team, and the PRIDE club. She is the historian of the National Honor Society and is active in the PRIDE club. She resides in Benton and is the daughter of Dawn and Gary Boudreau.

Evelyn Townsend is a member of the National Honor Society, the Renaissance club and the soccer team. She is a class officer and works at Cappza’s Pizza. She resides in Fairfield and is the daughter Diane and Matthew Townsend.

Kassi Joler is the class president and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is a member of the soccer team and participates in dance. She resides in Benton and is the daughter of Tonya and Craig Joler.

Cameron Patterson is an Eagle Scout who participates in his community. He also is involved in mixed martial arts. He resides in Fairfield with his mother Ann Robinson.

Alex Misner is a member of the marching band, jazz band, vocal vibe and the pep band. He is involved in the theater program at LHS. He resides in Waterville with his parents Tom and Renae Misner.

The delegates are sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 14 Fairfield, Clinton Evening Exchange, Clinton Lions Club, Lawrence High School YAPS Club and the American Legion, Post 14 Fairfield.

Allison Brown of Lawrence High School helped with the selection of the delegates. Girls and Boys State offers hands-on experience in how state governments function. During the week-long event, the program fosters fellowship and creative expression in reporting, public speaking and debate, mock court system, patriotic ceremonies, singing and a talent show.
