Two teenagers were killed in a single car crash on Route 15 in Glenburn Sunday morning.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s office responded to the 6 a.m. crash near the Bangor and Glenburn border.

Two teenagers were killed in a single car crash on Route 15 in Glenburn Sunday morning.

Police said a four-door Toyota Corolla was traveling north on Route 15 when it left the road and hit several trees splitting the car in half. Both teen-aged occupants died at the scene.

Police are investigating the cause of crash, which shut down Route 15 for 41/2 hours.

The names of the teenagers are being withheld pending notification of their families. Police said they do not expect the names to be released Sunday.
