What’s going this month at the Augusta Food Bank? Plenty.

We are receiving every day new produce from local farms and other donors. We are still feeding about 1,000 people a month — legitimately.

What do we need this month? Plenty. We always need clean used plastic bags, monetary donations (heck, put a five in an envelope and mail it to 9 Summer St.), and peanut butter, canned fruit — most importantly canned fruit.

We also need, strangely enough, egg cartons. You can drop them off at 9 Summer St., Augusta. Someone is usually here Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. whether the door is open or not. If you cannot raise anyone just leave the stuff at the front door. Your own heart will thank you.
