WATERVILLE — Police are investigating an armed robbery of a local business that was reported around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A worker from Scotty’s Pizza at 47 Water St. called police and reported a person displayed a weapon and asked for money. Police aren’t releasing the names of the workers or the kind of weapon reportedly displayed at this time, Sgt. Alden Weigelt said.

The suspect in the robbery remains at large, he said.

Maine State Police and Winslow Police both assisted Waterville Police in the investigation of the incident. Detective Joshua Woods is leading the investigation into the report of the crime, Weigelt said.
