PITTSFIELD — April McAlpine scored an unassisted goal with 5:52 left in overtime to give Maine Central Institute a 1-0 win over Spruce Mountain in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B field hockey action Saturday.

Elspeth Taylor made five saves for the Huskies (9-2) while Sydney Shaffer stopped eight shots for the Phoenix (8-3).

GIRLS SOCCER

OCEANSIDE 3, WINSLOW 2: Three different players scored as the Mariners earned the KVAC B win in Winslow.

Jillian Brooks, Kelsey Brooks and Abby Veilleux each scored a goal for Oceanside (7-1-2). Rachel Joyce made five saves.

Sarah Guimond and Sara Doughty scored for Winslow (4-4-2). Broghan Gagnon stopped six shots.

GREENVILLE 1, VALLEY 0: Bianca Breton scored to lift the Lakers to the East/West Conference win in Greenville. Makenzie Ward made three saves for Greenville while Samantha West stopped 29 shots.

COLLLEGE

Eryn Doiron, a Mt. Blue grad, scored her third goal of the season as the Maine Maritime Academy women’s soccer team beat Lyndon 6-0. Also in the game, Richmond grad Kelsea Anair had two assists. … Maranacook graduate Lindsay Jackson scored two goals as the University of Southern Maine field hockey team defeated Western Connecticut State University 2-1.
