WINTHROP — Avery Griffin scored an unassisted goal to lift Telstar past Winthrop 1-0 in Mountain Valley Conference boys soccer action Saturday.

Boston Ludden made five saves for Telstar (5-4-0) while Jackson Ladd stopped seven shots for Winthrop (1-7-1).
