The failure of the Maine House and Senate to address the governor’s recent crude and bizarre behavior targeted at Rep. Drew Gattine has driven the bar for political discourse to an all-time low. It would appear the following behavior is now acceptable.

1. Curse and make implicit and/or explicit threats.

2. Apologize for your remarks.

3. Pray with your family.

4. Go back to step one.

I had hoped that Maine was better than this.
