The Sebago chapter of Trout Unlimited’s December meeting will feature certified casting instructor, Maine Guide and L.L. Bean Discovery School Instructor Kate Farnham speaking on how to read water using examples from her home waters: the East Outlet and Moosehead region. Trail Grand Opening, 1 p.m. in Westbrook
Join the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust for the grand opening of the three-mile trail system through its Mill Brook Preserve. Following the ribbon cutting, the land trust’s trail steward, Toby Jacobs, will lead a 1.5-hour guided walk along the newest and most rugged section of trail in the most remote area of the preserve. As the trail creator, Jacobs will share history and wildlife unique to Mill Brook. Trail maps will be available. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Handgun Safety, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Madison
The “Maine-ly Outdoors” Ministry of Daystar Chapel is offering a handgun safety course. This course satisfies the state’s requirement for a concealed weapons permit.
