AUGUSTA — Nate Violette poured in 27 points and had five steals to lead the Messalonskee boys basketball team to a 73-36 victory over Mt. Blue on Wednesday at the Capital City Hoop Classic.

James Kouletsis had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles (3-2) while Griffin Tuttle had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Chase Warren dished out five assists.

Cooper Hollingsworth had 11 points for the Cougars (1-4). James Anderson scored seven.

NOKOMIS 54, WATERVILLE 41: On Tuesday, Zach Hartsgrove scored 26 points to lead the Warriors (4-2) to victory in a KVAC A game at Waterville.

Brad Allen scored 11 points and Josh Perry had 10 for Nokomis. Devon Lebrun had 19 points to lead the Panthers.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

WINSLOW 78, ERSKINE 15: Heather Kervin went 8-for-8 from the field and 3-for-3 from the line for 21 points and added six rebounds to spark the Black Raiders to the win in Winslow.

Silver Clukey added 18 points for Winslow (4-1) while Paige Trask scored 11 points and Maeghan Bernard grabbed seven rebounds.

Erskine (1-4) was led by Faith Krause with five points.
