BINGHAM — Joey Thomas scored 29 points, including seven 3-pointers, to go along with five rebounds and four assists as the Valley boys basketball team sank Temple 78-62 on Thursday night.

Austin Cates scored 14 points and Dillon Bean had 10 rebounds for Valley (6-0). Josh Brown chipped in with 10 points.

Joe Xu scored a game-high 30 points while Brad Smith added 19 for Temple (3-4).

MADISON 59, OAK HILL 42: Nick Morales and Mitch Jarvais combined to score 45 points as the Bulldogs prevailed in a Mountain Valley Conference game in Madison.

Morales scored 23 points while Jarvais added 22 for Madison (7-0).

Marcus Bailey led Oak Hill (5-3) with 12 points while Cohen Donnell chipped in 11.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

TEMPLE 51, VALLEY 27: Veronica Rossignol scored a game-high 16 points to spark the Bereans to the Class D win in Bingham.

Delaney Carr added 10 points for Temple (5-1) while Tiara Carr and Selam Heinrich had eight points apiece.

Lexi Davis scored 11 points and Samantha West chipped in with seven to lead Valley (1-5).

LAWRENCE 72, ERSKINE 22: Molly Folsom scored 20 points and Hunter Mercier added 18 as the Bulldogs cruised to the KVAC A victory in Fairfield.

Morgan Boudreau finished with 15 points for Lawrence (4-3).

Lauren Wood and Catherine Silva each had six points for Erskine (2-6).
