A burglar broke into the Kohl’s department store in Westbrook early Friday morning and made off with a substantial amount of jewelry, Westbrook police said.

According to police, the suspect forced entry into the business about 4:30 a.m. Friday by smashing through the glass front doors. The suspect may have left the area in a white four-door sedan.

The Westbrook Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect or the vehicle.
