A Saco woman was sentenced Monday in Portland to two years of probation for stealing mail.

Norma Duhamel, 71, was also ordered by U.S. District Chief Judge Nancy Torresen to pay $1,230 in restitution.

According to court documents, Duhamel stole mail containing bank checks and a credit card from mailboxes in Cumberland between August and October 2016. She cashed about $1,125 worth of stolen checks and charged about $105 on the credit card.

Duhamel pleaded guilty in June.
