WINDSOR — A Massachusetts man who was working as an independent contractor at the Windsor Fair died sometime between Monday evening and midday Tuesday, but the death did not raise alarms with Maine State Police investigators who were at the scene early Tuesday afternoon.

“There was nothing suspicious about it,” Sgt. Elisha Fowlie said of the man’s unattended death.

Several police officers responded to the scene around 12:15 p.m. The fair, which began Sunday, continues until Labor Day.

The man, whom police didn’t identify, was 42-years-old, Fowlie said. He was staying in a mobile home parked just opposite the fairgrounds, in a field near the town’s transfer station that is currently serving as a parking area.
