Having known many Maine educators, including this year’s teacher of the year, I find it greatly disappointing to learn Gov. Paul LePage feels teachers are a “dime a dozen.” (”Governor derides teachers at Cianbro facility event,” Aug. 18).

I propose “DIME” be an acronym for “Don’t Insult Maine Educators,” or “Do Invest In Maine Education.”
