READFIELD — Garit Laliberte ran for a pair of touchdowns to lead the Maranacook football team over Camden Hills, 21-0, in a Class E season opener at Ricky Gibson Field of Dreams.
The Black Bears won their first game since 2015.
Laliberte scored in the first quarter to make it 7-0, then found the end zone again in the fourth to make it 21-0. A Dakota DeMott touchdown run put the Black Bears ahead 14-0 later in the first quarter.
Nate Cushing had a strip sack, with Isaac Wilson recovering the fumble, and Blayde Atwood had a sack and three tackles for loss.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 44, MOUNT VIEW 0: The Phoenix cruises to the Class D win in Livermore Falls.
OCEANSIDE 38, MCI 14: The Huskies had a rough Class C debut, falling to the Mariners in a Big Ten Conference game in Rockland.
This was the first regular season loss for MCI (0-1) since the 2013 season. The Huskies won the Class D state title last season.
OAK HILL 28, POLAND 14: Cruz Poirier ran for a pair of touchdowns and Gavin Rawstron, a freshman making his first start, threw for two as the Raiders won the Class D game in Poland.
Poirier ran for 155 yards and Rawstrong went 13-for-17 for 181 yards. Cole Beaule, Austin Pierce and Bailey Drouin led the defense.
